Making Contact on Coffee Meets Bagel
Men only have 24 hours to “pass” or “like” on womenWomen are presented with 6 matches everydayChatting is only available for 7 days and expires afterWomen are only presented with matches who have already liked themPotential matches/”Bagels” on Discover get refreshed every day at noon and may disappear from your radar foreverSending messages to other users is free for everyone There is a chatroom
Women are presented with 6 matches everyday. If the number of men who liked their photo do not reach 6, Coffee Meets Bagel will still find potential quality matches to offer. Since CMB is not yet extremely popular, the number of matches is still based on availability of members in different cities. A customized service named #LadiesChoice was created to elevate the quality of mobile dating for members. Men will receive matches – known as “Bagels” and have 24 hours to either like or pass on the Bagels. Among the men who expressed interest, CMB curates the best potential matches for women. This model uses your Facebook information to curate a matching pool from the friends of your friends. #LadiesChoice ensures that your potential matches are already more familiar to you (compared to other dating apps) and gives you the opportunity to create more meaningful relationships. One interesting thing about CMB is that members are encouraged to include 3 tidbits about themselves which will not be shown on their public profile. These are known as “Icebreakers” – once new members are connected, they will be shown the icebreakers in the chat to encourage flow of conversation.

Coffee Meets Bagel Review: Pros
Overall, I really, really like this app.
It’s free, extremely user-friendly, and comes equipped with plenty of unique features that make it stand out from its competitors.
This is also a great app for relationship-oriented people. On apps like Tinder, you’re going to get a mixed bag of people who want a relationship and those who simply want to hook up.
Moreover, you don’t have to worry about suffering from dating app fatigue. Because the app offers a limited number of bagels each day, you can focus on a few people at a time instead.
I also like that this app is one of the few where there is a higher percentage of women than men. This allows women to be super selective. Men don’t have to worry about trying to elbow their way into a woman’s messages while competing with a bunch of creepers (who may make the woman cancel her account altogether) or throngs of other guys of ranging quality vying for a date.
When you check the Coffee Meets Bagel review via the app store, it boasts a high rating that lets you know its users are impressed.
One other thing I like about the app is its overall layout. There’s just something very clean, friendly and fun about it.
On diversity: That has an impact on how we show up
When we think of an entrepreneur, we typically think of about Mark Zuckerberg, quintessential classic Silicon Valley. And if you don't fit into that specific role, you could feel like, maybe I'm not cut out for this.
I remember every time I walked into an investor pitch, my investor committee was all white guys, and I'm the only person who is female and Asian. That had an impact on me. Subconsciously and consciously, that has an impact on how we show up. When you walk into the room and you're the only person who looks like that, whatever that is, or you're "the only," then immediately, you're going to feel that you're not seen or understood.
To create an inclusive environment is very, very important. As a business person, you're actually servicing all kinds of consumers, and if you don't have those consumers represented in the people who actually work on the products, you just don't have the edge. From a business perspective, it's no brainer. Diversity has to come first.

On her daily routine: I get so sucked into work
Sleeping has a critical impact on my mental health. Without it, I just can't function. That's actually why I also cut out alcohol, because I realized that when I drink, I don't sleep well.
I go to sleep at 9 p.m. these days. I don't have an alarm clock, so I wake up whenever, usually between 5 a.m. and 6 a.m.
Once my day starts, I get so sucked into work. So meditation, exercise, affirmation and writing [in a journal], I always do each day in the morning. My routine is based on "The Morning Miracle: The Not-So-Obvious Secret Guaranteed to Transform Your Life Before 8 a.m." by Hal Elrod.
I [also] reflect and I share what I am grateful for each day with my sister, Arum, because we are able to uplift each other. It is such a simple thing, but it's so powerful. It's not a magic pill, but once you [express gratitude] consistently, you're going to see it has an impact.
So much of your life experience and the choices that you make is based on your beliefs and how you see the world. And your view depends on your mental state. So, I'm a big believer of getting into the habit of keeping your mental state happy.
